The movie title for the live-action adaptation of Oshi no Ko has been confirmed as ‘Oshi no Ko: The Final Act.’ The official trailer and poster for the film have also been released.
Based on the manga of the same name by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, which began serialization in 2020 in Weekly Young Jump, the story follows Aqua and Ruby, twin children who are reincarnated as the “oshis” (favorites) of the legendary idol Ai, a former member of the “B-Komachi” group. They enter the entertainment industry, with Aqua seeking to uncover the truth behind Ai’s death while navigating the complex world of showbiz.
The live-action adaptation stars Asuka Saito (formerly of Nogizaka46) as Ai, Kaito Sakurai as Aqua, and Nagisa Saito (formerly of =LOVE) as Ruby. Additionally, Nonoha Hara plays the role of Kanami Arima, a former child actress, and Mizuki Kayashima plays Akane Kurokawa, a popular influencer who develops feelings for Aqua. Other notable cast members include Ryo Narita, Kotaro Yoshida, Kana Kurashina, Nobuaki Kaneko, and Jun Kaname.
The movie, set to be released on December 20, follows the continuation of the drama series, which will begin streaming on November 28. The trailer showcases pivotal moments, such as Goro comforting the fan of Ai, Sari Tendoji, in her final moments, and his shock when Ai, now pregnant, appears before him as a patient. The trailer also hints at Aqua’s journey from a happy life as Ai’s child to seeking revenge for Ai’s murder, setting the stage for the gripping continuation of the story.
Additionally, the original song “SHINING SONG” by “B-Komachi,” consisting of Ruby, Kana, and MEMcho, has been chosen as the movie’s ending song. The trailer also offers a preview of the emotional and fast-paced track.
