Ryo Narita has been confirmed to join the live-action adaptation of ‘Oshi no Ko,’ both in the drama series and film.
The story revolves around Aqua and Ruby, twins who are reincarnated as the “children of” the legendary idol Ai, formerly a member of the iconic group B-Komachi. They enter the entertainment industry, navigating various aspects of showbiz while Aqua seeks the truth behind Ai’s death. The original manga, created by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, began serialization in 2020 in Weekly Young Jump and has recently announced its entry into the “final chapter” as of June. The second season of the anime is set to air from July, generating buzz in various forms.
The live-action adaptation, which will premiere the drama series on November 28 and the film on December 20, features Asuka Saito from ex-Nogizaka46 as Ai, Kaito Sakurai as Aqua, and Nagisa Saito from ex=LOVE as Ruby. Additionally, Nona Mizuki will play the role of Akane Kurokawa, who has a romantic interest in Aqua, and Nanoka Hara will portray Kana Arima, a member who reunites with B-Komachi. The announcement of Narita’s role as Goro Amamiya, a pivotal character who becomes Ai’s attending physician and becomes entangled in the secret circumstances of Ai’s delivery, was made with the release of the final character PV on July 30. The PV shows Goro admiring Ai’s merchandise and confronting Ai as a patient, ending with a disturbing narration that hints at significant drama to come: “I can’t die yet; not until I kill with these hands.”
