The full trailer and new stills for Cold Storage, starring Joe Keery, Georgina Campbell and Liam Neeson, have been released ahead of the film’s January 15, 2027 opening in Japan, where it will be titled Under Storage: Michinaru Kyōi.
The sci-fi horror thriller is based on a novel by David Koepp, the screenwriter behind Jurassic Park and other Steven Spielberg films. Koepp adapted his own book for the screen, with Jonny Campbell directing. The cast includes Keery, known for Netflix’s Stranger Things and his music under the name Djo, alongside Campbell and Neeson.
Set at a self-storage facility built on a former US military site in Kansas, the film follows night-shift worker Teacake (Keery) and new employee Naomi (Campbell). Their ordinary shift takes a terrifying turn when they discover a sealed underground facility containing a deadly infectious fungus.
The fungus causes infected organisms to behave erratically before their bodies eventually explode. As the outbreak escalates, Robert Quinn (Neeson), a former specialist who has encountered the fungus before, arrives and recruits the two workers into a desperate mission to stop the threat.
The new trailer shows the beginning of what quickly turns from an ordinary shift into the night shift from hell. Nine newly released stills show Teacake and Naomi cautiously peering into a hole in a wall, Quinn holding protective gear, and a deer poking its head out of a restricted area.
