Collaboration cafes celebrating the late Japanese musician and producer siinamota will open in Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo from October 30 as part of You meet siinamota, a project marking the 10th anniversary of his death.
Siinamota began producing music at the age of 14 and gained attention after uploading VOCALOID tracks to video-sharing platforms, including his signature song “Strobe Last.” Following the release of his debut album Yume no Manimani in 2012, he continued to produce music and perform live before passing away in July 2015 at the age of 20. His music continues to attract listeners worldwide, with “Young Girl A” becoming a viral hit years after his death.
The You meet siinamota project launched on March 9, the artist’s birthday, under the concept of introducing new listeners to his music through “Young Girl A.” A two-day pop-up store featuring merchandise related to the artist also opened on October 17, the anniversary of the song’s original upload. The project’s key visual was created by manga artist Inio Asano.

The collaboration cafes will run at SMILE BASE CAFE Nagoya Sakae from October 30 to November 4, SMILE BASE CAFE Shinsaibashi in Osaka from November 19 to 25, and SMILE BASE CAFE Ikebukuro in Tokyo from December 12 to 17. Each location will offer themed menu items designed for both longtime fans and those who discovered siinamota through “Young Girl A.”
The project also includes Rework with 少女A, an initiative allowing creators to release reinterpretations of “Young Girl A” using the song’s stems through TuneCore Japan at no distribution cost. Submissions are open until October 31, with participants eligible to receive 30% of streaming and sales revenue. Selected works may also be added to playlists on siinamota’s official YouTube channel or featured in an upcoming tribute video.
Another initiative, YouTube meets siinamota, allows creators to download stems from five songs, including “Young Girl A” and “Astronauts,” and upload remixes and covers to YouTube.
