The second wave of performers for the new international music festival ‘rockinʼon sonic,’ scheduled to take place at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Chiba on Saturday, January 4, and Sunday, January 5, 2025, has been announced.
Organized by Rockin’ On Japan, the same team behind ‘ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL,’ and with Creativeman, the organizers of ‘SUMMER SONIC,’ handling artist bookings and production, the festival previously revealed six acts in its first wave: PULP, WEEZER, MANIC STREET PREACHERS, PRIMAL SCREAM, THE LEMON TWIGS, and WEDNESDAY.
The second wave features four more artists. On Saturday, January 4, the lineup includes Grammy-winning American singer-songwriter St. Vincent, emo rock band Jimmy Eat World from Arizona, and emerging Liverpool-based artist LUVCAT, who has been attracting attention from major media outlets like the BBC. On Sunday, January 5, the festival will feature a performance from Death Cab for Cutie, marking their first visit to Japan in five and a half years, representing the American indie scene.
Additionally, along with PULP, WEEZER, PRIMAL SCREAM, and THE LEMON TWIGS, a solo performance by Jimmy Eat World has been confirmed. The concert will take place on Friday, January 3, at Bay Hall in Yokohama, Kanagawa.
