Japanese alternative rock band Yukiguni released their debut album pothos on vinyl on November 3 to coincide with Record Day, Japan’s annual celebration of vinyl records. The band also shared the artwork for the new edition.
Originally released in 2024, pothos is the band’s first full-length album. Influenced by Japanese alternative rock and indie music from the UK and US, the 15-track album blends melodic arrangements and layered harmonies with introspective, poetic lyrics exploring themes of loneliness.
The album has been pressed as a double LP, with the audio specially adjusted for vinyl by mixing and mastering engineer Kensei Ogata in collaboration with the band.
The artwork was redesigned by Karen Nakahara, who has also created merchandise for Yukiguni. The gatefold sleeve features details that tie in with the lyric insert, making full use of the larger vinyl format.
Yukiguni are also currently on a six-city tour of Japan in support of their second EP claras, released in August. The tour will wrap up with a sold-out show at WWW in Tokyo on November 14.
The band have also announced Yukiguni Asia Tour 2026 “claras”, which will include a headline show in Hong Kong and a co-headlining show with Ghost Bookstore in South Korea, marking a further expansion of their live activities across Asia.
