Sakanaction’s upcoming nationwide tour, “SAKANAQUARIUM 2024 ‘turn,'” has been officially announced.
The revelation took place during the encore of Ichiro Yamaguchi’s solo tour, “Nostalgic Moon is a New Moon ‘Mirage,'” held at Tokyo Garden Theater in Ariake on Sunday, January 14. The surprise encore featured a live performance of “New Treasure Island” by Motoharu Iwadera, Aimi Kusakari, Keiichi Ejima, Hidemi Okazaki, and Yamaguchi himself, marking the first time all five Sakanaction members performed together in approximately one year and eight months. The recorded performance will be available for viewing until Sunday, January 21.
The band’s first tour in about two years will consist of 13 shows in seven cities from April to June. Tickets are available through the fan site “NF member” for the first lottery and the official fastest lottery, and the special website has more details including a seat map.
Sakanaction cancelled their scheduled tour due to Yamaguchi’s health condition announced in July 2022. Since then, the group has been taking Yamaguchi’s health into consideration and released a rearrangement and remix album “Nostalgic Moon is the New Moon Vol. 2~Rearrange & Remix works~” in September 2023, which includes a collection of self-rearranged songs by Iwadera, Kusakari, Ejima, and Okazaki. Yamaguchi had resumed his live activities with the “Nostalgic Moon is the New Moon “Mirage”” tour that started in October 2023.
