PAS TASTA’s second album, GRAND POP, dropped on Wednesday, October 30.
The six-member J-POP project is known for blending sound-geek creativity and internet-driven cross-border collaborations. Formed by members hirihiri, Kabanagu, phritz, quoree, Amaneyama U, and yuigot, PAS TASTA debuted with the single “turtle thief” in 2022. Their first album, GOOD POP, arrived in 2023 with featured artists like Cwondo, Mr. Peanuts, Manami Suzuki, Soushi Sakiyama, and Peterparker69, and they hit the stage at major 2024 festivals like FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL and SUMMER SONIC.
With nine tracks, GRAND POP aims to elevate J-POP, featuring collaborations with eight diverse artists. Alongside pre-released singles “byun G feat. JUMADIBA & LIL SOFT TENNIS,” “B.B.M. feat. PinocchioP,” and “My Mutant Ride feat. Satoko Shibata & TAKU INOUE,” new tracks like “ISEWAN feat. Ryujin Kiyoshi,” “A-Tokyo feat. Tatsuya Kitani,” and “Careful feat. chelmico” push the album’s vision forward. Original tracks by PAS TASTA include the intro “GRAND POP!!!!!!,” an album version of “BULLDOZER+,” and closing track “THE CAR,” blending DTMer playfulness and dynamic band sounds.
PAS TASTA will host their second solo concert, GRAND POP ODYSSEY, at Spotify O-EAST in Shibuya, Tokyo, on December 8. Featuring “PAS TASTA / and friends,” tickets go on general sale at 8 pm. on Friday, November 1.
