The 24th TOKYO FILMeX will be held at Yurakucho Asahi Hall and Human Trust Cinema Yurakucho in Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward from November 19 (Sun) to 26 (Sun).
This event is an international film festival featuring films by up-and-coming directors from around the world, especially from Asia. This year, eight films will be screened in the “TOKYO FILMeX Competition,” eight in the “Special Screenings” section, and four in the “Made in Japan” section. In the “Special Screenings” section, “The Man in Black” and “Youth” by Wang Bing, who also serves on the competition jury, will be screened, as well as “GIFT” by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, and a special live performance by Eiko Ishibashi.
Prior to the opening of the festival, “Filmmakers’ Homecoming,” a pre-event featuring films by up-and-coming Asian directors, is being held at the Human Trust Cinema Shibuya until November 13 (Monday). Twelve films by graduates of “Talents Tokyo,” an Asian film talent development project that takes place at the same time as “TOKYO FILMeX,” are being screened.
Tickets for the festival and pre-event are now on sale to the general public at livepocket, at the box office of each theater, and on the official website.
