Jim O’Rourke and Eiko Ishibashi will make guest appearances at Oneohtrix Point Never’s (OPN) Japan tour in Tokyo and Osaka in February.
OPN released a new album “Again” on September 29 (Fri.), and has been receiving a great deal of attention from around the world for his work as a music producer for Anohni and The Weeknd, as well as for his film “Good Time,” which won the Best Soundtrack Award at the Cannes International Film Festival. He has also worked with Anohni and The Weeknd as a music producer.
Eiko Ishibashi, who will appear as a guest artist, is a musician who has created music for stage and screen, and guest-starred in numerous productions and live performances, in addition to her activities as a solo artist. Jim O’Rourke, meanwhile, has led the American post-rock scene, winning a Grammy Award in 2004 as producer for Wilco’s “A Ghost Is Born”. The two also worked together on OPN’s “Again.
The music video for “Nightmare Paint” from the album has also been released. The music video is grotesque and psychedelic, starting with a scene in which a man looks into what appears to be an oral cavity.
