The exhibition “Shinji Ohmaki: Interface of Being” will be held at the National Art Center, Tokyo from November 1 (Wed) to December 25 (Mon).
Shinji Ohmaki is a contemporary artist who focuses on large-scale installations based on the theme of what “being” is. He is also known for his involvement in art projects for regional revitalization and performing arts.
For this exhibition, Ohmaki has conceived three large installations that maximize the exhibition room space with a ceiling height of 8m and a total area of 2000m². The works of light and shadow, the latest version of “Gravity and Grace,” a series of installation works Ohmaki has been working on since 2016, for the production The exhibition will include countless drawings Ohmaki has left behind, as well as new video works. In addition, there will be a collaboration with poet Ryoko Sekiguchi and a performance in the exhibition space.
