TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR 2023″ (TABF) will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo in Koto-ku, Tokyo, for four days from November 23 (Thursday, national holiday) to November 26 (Sunday).
This year’s event, the 13th of its kind, will be attended by some 300 publishers, galleries, and artists from Japan and abroad. The creators themselves will share the appeal of their art books.
The “Guest Country” program, which focuses on a single country or region and introduces its publishing culture, features five Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland), while two exhibitions organized by TABF will feature the contemporary art of Joseph Beuys, Arnolf Reiner, and Fluxus. The Kiyosato Museum of Contemporary Art, which has collected works by Joseph Beuys, Arnolf Reiner, and Fluxus, and Thomas Conn, who became an artist after creating collages that filled his own convenience store, will present part of their valuable archives.

In addition, there will be special booths dedicated to Shiseido’s corporate culture magazine Hanatsubaki, the free magazine NOT FAR produced by TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance, and the booklet Trees: Five Perspectives, produced for TABF by the skin and mind brand BAUM. The free magazine “NOT FAR” produced by BAUM and the booklet “Trees: Five Perspectives” produced by skin & mind brand BAUM for TABF will have special booths.
