Studio Ghibli’s new film “The Boy and the Heron,” directed by Hayao Miyazaki for the first time in 10 years, will be released in theaters on Friday, July 14.
It was announced that the film will be screened in IMAX theaters, Dolby Atmos for a three-dimensional sound experience, and Dolby Cinema for HDR images in addition to Dolby Atmos, all at the same time on July 14. This is the first time that a Studio Ghibli film will be screened in IMAX.
In addition, for the first time ever, a Japanese film in the IAB format will be shown simultaneously on July 14 on the DTS:X screen, which allows viewers to enjoy the film in three-dimensional sound (immersive sound).
