Kenshi Yonezu released a new song “Chikyuugi (Globe)” on July 17 (Mon.).
The song “Chikyuugi” is the theme song for the new Studio Ghibli movie “The Boy and the Heron” directed by Hayao Miyazaki, and the original layout of the movie adorns the jacket. The original layout is a scene from the film, drawn by Hayao Miyazaki in his own hand, and was decided upon after Kenshi Yonezu personally requested it from Hayao Miyazaki.
The CD to be released on July 26 (Wed.) will also have the same jacket and will include a 160-page A5 size photo book documenting the production of the theme song. The photo book will document the production process, including a scene in which Hayao Miyazaki weeps when he hears the song, and will also include a conversation between Genshi Yonezu and Toshio Suzuki, a producer at Studio Ghibli.
