TuneCore Japan to Host Auditions for “exPoP!!!!!” Stage at TAMATAMA FESTIVAL 2024
TuneCore Japan will be hosting auditions for a chance to perform on the “exPoP!!!!!” stage, a free music event within TAMATAMA FESTIVAL 2024.
The festival, scheduled for October 19 (Saturday) and 20 (Sunday) in the area around Tama Center Station in Tokyo’s Tama City, is a pop culture festival organized and produced by WACK, the music management agency behind artists like BiSH, and NiEW, which supports alternative culture. It collaborates with Tama City, local residents, artists, and businesses to showcase culture, entertainment, and the charms of Tama New Town, utilizing the main street and a repurposed school. The inaugural event in 2023 attracted around 40,000 attendees over two days.
“exPoP!!!!!,” typically a monthly music event hosted by NiEW, will hold a special edition on a temporary outdoor stage near the station during the festival. Auditions are open from August 5 (Monday) to August 30 (Friday), with TuneCore Japan and the TAMATAMA FESTIVAL 2024 organizing committee handling the judging. The final selection results will be announced in mid-September, and the grand prize winner will get to perform on the “exPoP!!!!!@TAMATAMA2024” stage on October 20 (Sunday).

Application Details
Eligibility:
- Artists who have begun distributing their music via TuneCore Japan between January 1, 2024, and August 30, 2024 (completion of distribution registration is required).
Requirements:
- Open to all ages, nationalities, individuals, groups, and genres.
- Must be available to perform on Sunday, October 20, 2024 (exact performance time TBD; please keep the entire day free to accommodate scheduling).
