A replica of the iconic JAL Happi jacket worn by The Beatles during their first visit to Japan in 1966 will be released for a limited time.
Originally available by pre-order only, the commemorative jacket will instead be sold in-store from June 30 through July 2, coinciding with the anniversary of the band’s first-ever Japan concert. Online pre-orders will begin shipping on July 4.
Inspired by the happi coat the band wore upon arriving at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, the replica features a navy-blue design with “JAL” and “Nikko” on the collar and the kanji “Kotobuki” across the back.
The commemorative pop-up store runs from June 25 to July 5 and includes a photo spot recreating The Beatles’ memorable arrival at Haneda Airport.
