The first lineup of performers for the Ryuichi Sakamoto tribute festival, RADIO SAKAMOTO Uday -NEW CONTEXT FES × DIG SHIBUYA-, scheduled to take place on February 10 (Monday) in Shibuya, Tokyo, has been announced.
The event, a one-night-only tribute festival organized by J-WAVE’s regular program RADIO SAKAMOTO, which Ryuichi Sakamoto hosted as a navigator from 2003 to 2023, will bring together artists closely connected to Sakamoto. The festival will take place across three adjacent venues: Spotify O-EAST, Higashimaya, and DUO MUSIC EXCHANGE.
The first wave of announced performers includes U-zhaan×Tamakiyo×Chinza DOPENESS, Cornelius, Yoshinori Sunahara, Daito Manabe, DONGROSSO, Towa Tei, SE SO NEON, Dos Monos, and Saso Haraguchi (a total of nine acts). Additional performers, stage allocations, and the event schedule will be announced at a later date.
In addition, early ticket reservations for the event are now open exclusively for J-WAVE listener community members, known as “J-me.” Applications are being accepted through a lottery system until December 15 (Sunday) at 23:59.
The event will be held as part of DIG SHIBUYA 2025, a four-day cultural event combining technology and art taking place across Shibuya from February 8 (Saturday) to 11 (Tuesday, holiday). The first edition of DIG SHIBUYA, held in January 2024, drew approximately 110,000 attendees over three days. It introduced new cultural experiences, such as an art parade with traffic restrictions on Park Street, art installations in Yoyogi Park, and the “Shibuya Crossing Night Art,” which linked monitors at the famous Shibuya Crossing for midnight art displays. For its second iteration in 2025, the event aims to expand opportunities for both domestic and international artists, with collaborative projects by 12 selected groups chosen through an open call.
