The live event J-WAVE TOKYO GUITAR JAMBOREE 2025 supported by Okumura-gumi is set to take place on March 1 (Sat) and 2 (Sun), 2025, at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Sumida, Tokyo. The first wave of performers has also been announced.
This event, organized by J-WAVE, began in 2013. It features a unique stage setup with a center stage resembling a sumo ring, surrounded by the audience at Ryogoku Kokugikan. The event is known for its cherry blossom decorations, creating a “hanami” (cherry blossom viewing) atmosphere, as well as the special food offerings like “chanko” and “yakitori,” iconic to the venue.
The first lineup announced includes eight acts. On March 1 (Sat), Pistol Takehara, Kazuya Miyata of JUN SKY WALKER(S), Kimaguren, and Sho Wada will perform. On March 2 (Sun), Tamio Okuda, Naotaro Moriyama, Sohei Oyamada, and Ai Tomioka are set to appear. Notably, Miyata and Tomioka will be performing at this event for the first time, while Wada returns after 12 years.
Details of the audition project “Shin Deshi Kensa” were also revealed. This year, it will be held in cooperation with the music distribution service Eggs Pass, and the grand prize winner will have the chance to perform an acoustic set on the “Dohyo Stage” during the event.
Ticket applications for the fastest pre-sale lottery, exclusively for members of J-WAVE’s listener community J-me, are open until November 17 (Tue). VIP box seats, which include perks like commemorative photos on stage and all-you-can-eat chanko, will also be available for purchase.
