The series “WWW presents ‘Heritage 3000’ Farewell Series,” marking the final performances with the current sound system at Shibuya WWW, will be held from January 5 (Sunday) to January 13 (Monday, holiday) in 2025.
In celebration of the 15th anniversary of WWW in 2025, the venue’s signature sound system, combining the iconic FUNKTION-ONE speakers with the British-made Midas analog mixer “Heritage 3000,” has been delivering exceptional sound for various performances. However, due to changes in technology and the decision to replace the system with a digital mixer in mid-January 2025, the farewell concert series will take place just before the equipment switch.
The series will consist of five performances. On January 5 (Sunday), the Japanese band OGRE YOU ASSHOLE, known for their international acclaim, will perform an additional show as part of their tour for the new album Shizen to Computer. On January 6 (Monday), the vegan straight edge noise project Merzbow, led by Masami Akita, will perform a long-set solo show titled Merzbow Free Noise, with VJ Rokapenis, free entry (with separate drink charge).
On January 9 (Thursday), Tokyo’s Krautrock band Minami Deutsch, fresh off a North American tour, will team up with Kyoto’s rock band Otoboke Beaver, known for their performances with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in North America, for a two-man live show. The event will feature two internationally active bands.
On January 10 (Friday), the party collective FLATTOP will celebrate its 10th anniversary with “Psychedelic New Year’s Festival,” a late-night event featuring sound engineer and FLYING RHYHMS member Naoyuki Uchida, themed around “HOUSE & EXPERIMENTAL.” Details will be announced later. The final performance of the series on January 13 (Monday, holiday) will feature singer-songwriter and poet Satoko Shibata’s DUB Reflection, a band set focused on dub music, with FOH engineer Dub Master X.
