The second wave of performers and ticket details for the “TAMATAMA FESTIVAL 2024,” scheduled for October 19 (Saturday) and 20 (Sunday), has been unveiled.
Taking place around Tamacenter Station in Tama City, Tokyo, the “TAMATAMA FESTIVAL 2024” is a pop culture festival organized by WACK, the music agency known for fostering artists like BiSH, in collaboration with NiEW, which promotes alternative culture. The festival’s inaugural edition in 2023 drew around 40,000 attendees over its two-day span.
An outdoor stage in front of Parthenon Tama will feature a special edition of the free music event “exPoP!!!!!,” named “exPoP!!!!!@TAMATAMA2024,” with new performances confirmed from Wataru Sawabe (Skirt), Yuuransen, and Jiguzaguzu. Additionally, “NiEW MARKET,” a market event, will be set up in front of Tamacenter Station.
At the former Nishi-Ochiai Junior High School, “WACK’s Unique Cultural Festival” will showcase “WACK EXHiBiTiON” on the 19th (Saturday), with the only band under WACK, Kudarashii 1-nichi, slated to perform. The schoolyard will also host a special acoustic live show titled “Shounen Kids Bowie Mini + Brunch Live,” featuring the eight-member group Shounen Kids Boy, who juggle their music careers with regular jobs in Tokyo.
Some events will require tickets. Pre-reservation tickets for the “WACK EXHiBiTiON,” “WACK’s Unique Cultural Festival Performances,” and “WACK’s Unique Sports Day Fast Pass” will be available starting at 6 PM on September 28 (Saturday), with general sales commencing at 6 PM on October 10 (Thursday). Ticket details for “WACK’s Unique Classes,” “WACK’s Unique Academic Tests,” and “WACK’s Unique Group Rooms,” taking place inside the school building, will be announced at a later date.
Additionally, “TAMATAMA FESTIVAL 2024” is actively seeking participants for the “Nodojiman Contest” and “Minority’s Claims,” as well as vendors, volunteers, and sponsors to help shape the event. The application deadline for both the “Nodojiman Contest” and “Minority’s Claims” is September 27 (Friday).

▶ NiEW MARKET
This year, a market will be held! We plan to host a flea market featuring artists and creators connected to the cultural media “NiEW,” along with stalls offering lovely goods and clothing. We’re also planning unique experiences beyond just shopping. Details about the participating stores will be announced later.
▶ exPoP!!!!!@TAMATAMA2024
In front of the Parthenon Tama, an outdoor stage will host a special edition of the free-entry event “exPoP!!!!!,” running for over 15 years, titled “exPoP!!!!!@TAMATAMA2024.” Performers will include Sunny Day Service, Summer Eye, Sarasa (Solo Set), Tomonari Sora, Nagakumo, Haruko Oishi, Khaki, HALLEY, Wataru Sawabe (Skirt), Yuuranbune, and Jiguzaguzu. The performance dates and additional artists will be announced later.
▶ TAMA CURRY CAMP
In conjunction with “exPoP!!!!!@TAMATAMA2024,” a curry festival titled “TAMA CURRY CAMP” has been confirmed! From katsu curry to spice curry and South Indian cuisine, popular curry shops selected by Hiroaki Matsu (Curry Cell) will gather for this Japanese curry festival. The participating shops will be announced later.
▶ TAMA TECH 2024.Autumn – Tama “Machizukai” Technology Expo
At the open studio within Parthenon Tama, the “TAMA TECH 2024.Autumn – Tama ‘Machizukai’ Technology Expo,” hosted by Bornrex, will take place. This event will showcase new technologies from various startup companies, allowing attendees to experience actual startup services, including VR (Virtual Reality).
“WACK’s Unique Cultural Festival”
The “WACK’s Unique Cultural Festival” at the former Nishi-Ochiai Junior High School will feature performances by ExWHYZ, GANG PARADE, ASP, Mameshiba no Taigun (a.k.a. MONSTERIDOL), BiTE A SHOCK, KiSS KiSS, and Ritchie. Entrance to the school area is free, although some content inside the school building and gymnasium will require tickets.
▶ Gymnasium
On both days, the gymnasium will host “WACK EXHiBiTiON in TAMATAMA FESTIVAL 2024,” where attendees can enjoy performances from WACK-affiliated groups. On the 19th, the only band signed under WACK, Kudarashii 1-nichi, will also perform. Additionally, the cultural festival program titled “WACK’s Unique Cultural Festival Performance” will feature live music from the light music club, dance performances from the dance club, and a theatrical performance by the drama club (details to be announced later).
▶ Schoolyard
The schoolyard will host the “WACK Sports Day,” where all participating members will be divided into three teams to compete in events such as “Bubble Ball Sumo,” “Chase Ball Toss,” “Pedometer Challenge,” “Tricycle Race (Relay Format),” and “Team Relay.” Other activities like the “Nodojiman Contest” and “Youth Declaration” will also take place. Additionally, the eight-member band “Shonen Kids Bowie,” formed in 2020 and based in Tokyo while balancing music careers with regular jobs, will hold a special acoustic performance titled “Shonen Kids Bowie Mini + Brunch Live.” Expect a unique show that you won’t see at regular live houses or other festivals!
Profile of Shonen Kids Bowie:
Shonen Kids Bowie is an eight-member band formed in 2020, based in Tokyo, and balancing music activities with regular jobs. They include apparel store staff, cinema employees, train conductors, manga enthusiasts, and comedy fans, blending various cultures and backgrounds in their lively activities. Due to scheduling conflicts, only five of the eight members will perform as “Shonen Kids Bowie Mini +”!

Throughout both days, the school building will host the “WACK Art Exhibition” and “WACK Photography Exhibition,” along with “WACK Classes” taught by WACK members, as well as “WACK Academic Tests,” “WACK Group Rooms,” and “WACK Live Broadcasts.”
