The immersive music event ‘by this river’ is set to run all night from October 19 (Saturday) to October 20 (Sunday).
The inaugural event’s theme is “An Evening by the River Celebrating the Beauty of Music and Nature.” The venue, DAICHI Silent River, is a sauna-equipped campsite located in the Fujino area of Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, and is described as a “hidden gem just an hour from Tokyo” with rich natural surroundings.
The festival will feature over ten international and domestic artists centered around ambient music. Confirmed international performers include GUZZ from China, Swedish artist Mikael Lind based in Iceland, and QOA from Argentina. Domestic acts announced include jan and naomi, Komatsu Kazumichi, Miru Shinoda, Rinna Shimizu, Seiichiro Ito, Tenniscoats, Yumea Horiike, and Takuma Matsunaga. The venue’s design will be created by Jiro Endo, known for his work in art, direction, and lighting, and the Ahare Space Project will provide a unique atmosphere that harmonizes with the natural environment.
On the day of the event, a high-end sauna room resembling a tea room will be available for an additional fee. Food stalls will feature popular Tokyo eatery Shimpou and onigiri with miso soup from Onigiriya Dogu, offering dishes made with local Fujino ingredients. Early bird tickets are available at a discounted price of ¥7,000 until September 13 (Friday), which is half the price of the day-of ticket.
