PERO PERO CANDY has announced that it will release its first EP “CANDY POWER” on July 10 (Wed.). The song “SHARE SHOW” from the EP will be distributed in advance on June 26 (Wed.), and the band will also hold an East-Osaka tour in November.
Pero Pero Candy is a rap unit consisting of siblings SUNNY-PLAY and Janet Mayuka. They made their debut in October 2021 with their first single “Irokozata” and have been recognized as a leading Japanese artist shaping the “Future of Music,” selected as “Future 25” by Rolling Stone Japan and included in the “Next Trend Chosen by High School Students” by Shibuya Trend Research. On July 19 (Friday), they will also perform at “exPoP!!!!! vol.164,” a free music event organized by NiEW, held at Spotify O-nest in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Their pre-released track “SHARE SHOW” was inspired by an incident where they received a message on their cup from a cafe staff saying, “We really love your singing and voices!!” They created the track based on this encounter. After receiving comments such as “I want to hear the full version” and “Please release it,” they decided to release it. The song carries the essence of the “Pero Candy Mind,” which believes that even in times of personal constraint, sharing kindness with others brings happiness and makes one feel a little more adorable.
Pero Pero Candy’s first tour in Tokyo and Osaka, titled “Pero Pero Candy presents CANDY SHOWER,” will take place on November 4 (Monday, holiday) at ANIMA in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, and on November 16 (Saturday) at SPACE ODD in Daikanyama, Tokyo. Tickets, including discounts for those under 30 (“U-30 Discount”) and those under 18 (“U-18 Discount”), will be available. Official pre-sale starts on June 11 (Tuesday).
I swung by a café for a coffee before heading to work. To my surprise, the staff discreetly left a heartfelt note with my order, filling me with joy and warmth!! Though I couldn’t identify the sender, I felt compelled to thank them and spread this kindness to others, inspiring me to create this song!!
In life, there are moments when someone offers you a kind gesture or lends a hand, leaving you feeling unable to repay their kindness. However, you can pay it forward by sharing the kindness and happiness you’ve received with someone else!!
Whenever possible, share kindness not just for yourself but also for others!! Even during challenging times, simply doing so can lift a heavy heart. This song reminds me of the importance of “sharing,” and I hope it resonates with everyone too!!
