“Under Your Smell,” a photography exhibition in collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Lausanne (ECAL), Switzerland, will be held at GALLERY X BY PARCO in Shibuya Parco, Tokyo, from May 30 (Thu), 2012.
In “Under Your Smell,” photography students from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne will exhibit works that challenge the visual interpretation of perfume. Under the direction of Florence Tétier, Creative Director of Jean Paul Gaultier, and Nicolas Coulomb, photographer and consultant for Novembre Magazine, they created giant fabric prints and oversized image cushions, the exhibition will redefine gender diversity and representations of beauty and the body. Starting at the Gaultier headquarters in Paris, France (2022), the exhibition will travel to Art Basel Miami Beach, USA (2022), and the Musee de l’Elysee, Switzerland (2023), and will be held for the first time in Asia.
The up-and-coming design unit BIOTOPE will be in charge of visual and merchandise design for the exhibition. During the exhibition period, original Japan-only goods featuring data from the works and the exhibition logo will be on sale at the venue, as well as other exhibition goods.
