The exhibition “Keiichi Tanaami: Adventures in Memory” will be held at the National Art Center, Tokyo from August 7 (Wed) to November 11 (Mon).
Keiichi Tanaami is an art director, graphic designer, and filmmaker from Tokyo. The exhibition, the artist’s first major retrospective, will feature works that tell the story of the counterculture that developed in postwar Japan, including the “ORDER MADE! series and “NO MORE WAR” series, works that tell the story of the postwar Japanese counterculture, “Sayonara Marilyn Monroe,” an animation created for the TV program “11PM,” and his unpublished new work “Law of the Forest,” as well as collaborations with fashion brands such as adidas, RADWIMPS, and Fujio Akatsuka. The exhibition introduces a vast body of work spanning over 60 years. Under the theme of “memory,” the exhibition presents a comprehensive view of Tanaami’s activities to date.
