Ryuichi Sakamoto’s “Ryuichi Sakamoto | seeing sound, hearing time” will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo in Koto-ku, Tokyo, from December 21 (Sat) to March 30 (Sun), 2025.
Sakamoto, who has been at the forefront of the times through his diverse expressive activities, has been actively thinking and practicing the installation of sound three-dimensionally in the exhibition space since the 2000s through collaboration with various artists.
This exhibition comprehensively introduces Sakamoto’s new works conceived for this exhibition before his death, as well as his past installations. The exhibition will be the first and largest solo exhibition of Sakamoto’s work in Japan, and will trace the trajectory of his pioneering and experimental creative activities through dynamic composition and deployment in the museum’s interior and exterior spaces, as well as a chronicle exhibition.
