Shota Aratani (ex. yonawo) has released a music video for his debut single “Namida (Tears).”
“Namida” is the debut single released on April 17 (Wed.) by Aratani, who started his career as a solo artist in 2024. It is a love song that tenderly sings about encounters and partings that everyone has, and is the first of three consecutive monthly single releases.
The music video was directed by the same director who also directed yonawo’s “Tenjin” and “ijo,” Vaundy’s “Breathe Like a Breath” and “Hitomi Koire,” and Naotaro Moriyama’s “Wonderful World. Tetsu Watanabe, who also directed Vaundy’s “Like Breathing” and “Eye Love” and Naotaro Moriyama’s “Wonderful World. This is Aratani’s first attempt to express the sad and fragile beauty of the song in a single cut with the dancers by including a choreographer to choreograph. The four dancers were MiWA KAi, who has also participated in ELEVENPLAY, SOTARO ITO, who has performed with Sankai Juku, and Miho Nakajima and Hasaki Nakajima, who have toured with Yonezu Genji and others.
Aratani is also scheduled to perform at a number of festivals, including “ARIFUJI WEEKENDERS 2024” at Arima Fuji Park in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, on Saturday, May 18, and “THE CAMP BOOK 2024” at Fujimi Kogen Resort in Fujimi Town, Nagano Prefecture, on Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9.
