Linda Carriere’s album “Linda Carriere,” produced by Haruomi Hosono in 1977, will be released after 47 years.
Linda Carriere is a singer from New Orleans, LA, USA, who began her singing career at Maverick’s Flat, a club for young people in Los Angeles, where she moved to attend UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). She later became a member of the R&B group DYNASTY, and her song “I’ve Just Begun to Love You” charted in the U.S. in 1980.
The album, which was to be Linda Carriere’s debut album, was produced by Haruomi Hosono and then-Alpha Records under a producer contract, with the help of Tatsuro Yamashita, Hiroshi Sato, Minako Yoshida, and Akiko Yano, as a memorable first album. However, due to the poor response of the overseas staff at the time, it was put on hold.
The CD and analog version will be released on July 17 (Wed.), the anniversary of Alpha Music’s founding, and the analog version will be released on July 18 (Wed.), the 55th anniversary of Alpha Music’s founding. The CD will be released on Wednesday, July 17, the anniversary of Alpha Music’s founding, while the analog version will be released on Saturday, August 3, as part of Alpha Music’s 55th anniversary project.
