LINE MUSIC has launched “NEXT SPIKES,” a new project to select next-generation artists who are expected to play an active role in the future, and announced the first group of artists.
The five artists selected this time are Azusa River, Galakuta, Muto, Murasaki Ima, and Lavt. A survey of teens and young adults and the student group College Radio Japan (CRJ) was also used in the selection process.
Azusagawa is a singer who sings songs from all genres and has participated as a vocalist in cover videos and Vocaloid P songs. Garakuta is a four-piece rock band from Nagoya whose lyrics about love on SNS resonate with Generation Z listeners, and their songs “I Love You is Not Enough” and “You’re Dependent” have become viral hits on TikTok and other social networks. Muto is a four-piece rock band from Nagoya, Japan. Muto has attracted attention with her “I tried singing” and “storytelling” videos posted on SNS, and her transparent voice has been used not only in her solo activities but also in various collaborations. Murasaki is a singer-songwriter who now writes lyrics, composes, arranges, and sings all by herself, and also wrote the ending theme for the TV anime “Blue Exorcist: Shimane Keimei Kyusha Hen.

Plans for the future include playlists, introductions of new songs, and other projects to communicate the appeal of the selected artists together. The “NEXT SPIKES” special site introduces each artist and includes listener comments from the survey.
