A new anime series “THE ONE PIECE” of “ONE PIECE” will be produced.
Based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga of the same title, the “ONE PIECE” series has been broadcasting an anime since 1999. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, the hero of the series, as he and his fellow members of the “Warawara no Keigami,” who are bound by strong bonds, explore the world’s oceans in search of the “One Piece,” the great treasure left behind by the “Pirate King.
THE ONE PIECE” is a project to re-animate the East Blue Arc from the first to twelfth volumes of the original work with completely new images, which will be released on Netflix and other media. The release date will be announced in the future.
The production will be handled by WIT STUDIO, which has worked on “SPY×FAMILY” and “Shinkoku no Kyojun”, and comments from President Takeshi Wada and the production committee were also released in conjunction with the release of this information.
This project is a re-drawing of the “ONE PIECE” animation from the East Sea Arc to the present day.
We would like to present Luffy’s adventures in a new and nostalgic way, pursuing expressions that are possible only now, on a different line from the TV anime series, which is still moving forward at maximum output after 25 years.
