Trees for Sakamoto, a tree-planting donation platform created and operated by more trees, a forest conservation organization founded by Ryuichi Sakamoto, has opened and begun accepting donations.
The project’s special website provides information on the destruction of nature occurring in various parts of the world, and allows users to make donations for the planting of trees, starting with a single tree.
The first round of donations will be made to the following five areas: Pontau, a forested area on the Atlantic coast of Brazil; the Tengeru Desert in Inner Mongolia, China; the Butiama Hills in Mara, Tanzania; Yusuhara, Kochi; and East Kalimantan, Indonesia. All donations, minus necessary expenses, will be donated to organizations in each region through a general incorporated association called “more trees”. Donations can also be made without specifying a region.
