The music video for Ikuta Rira’s song “Midnight Talk” has been released.
Rira Ikuta, a singer-songwriter and vocal ikura of YOASOBI, will start her first solo tour “SKETCH” on July 5 (Wed) in Aichi, Osaka, and Kanagawa, with the final performance at KT Zepp Yokohama in Kanagawa on July 10 (Mon). The final performance is scheduled for July 10 (Mon.) at KT Zepp Yokohama in Kanagawa.
The release of the music video for “Midnight Talk,” a song from their first album “Sketch,” released in March 2023, commemorates the tour. The song is also used as the commercial song for Topvalu’s “Mogumogu Ajiwaku Soup Series”.

I am the type of person who can’t sleep when I have to sleep because I have to be up early tomorrow morning! I am the type of person who can’t sleep when I feel like I have to go to bed because I have an early morning tomorrow or something.
When I first heard Ikuta-san’s “Midnight Talk”, I thought it was a gentle song that would be a good companion for those who cannot sleep for various reasons.
In the music video, I delved deeper into the lyrics and set the reasons why the main character played by Ikuta-san cannot sleep along with the worldview. The delusion of sleepiness was played very delicately and joyfully, yet fragilely.
I heard that Ikuta-san’s singing voice contains frequencies that only animals can hear, and perhaps because of this, she and her co-star, Yale the Sheep, were in perfect harmony, making the shoot a very enjoyable experience.
