Ado, Atarashii Gakko!, and YOASOBI will take the stage at the global showcase matsuri ’25: Japanese Music Experience in Los Angeles this March. The event, set to take place at the Peacock Theater on Sunday, March 16, 2025 (local time), is a major initiative to showcase contemporary Japanese music to the world.
Organized by the Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA), the event is a collaborative effort between five key organizations in Japan’s music industry: the Recording Industry Association of Japan, the Japan Music Industry Association, the Japan Music Producers Association, the Japan Music Publishers Association, and the Concert Promoters Association. CEIPA aims to elevate Japanese music on a global scale and present world-class Japanese artists to international audiences. The showcase is already drawing attention from the global music community, with the three acclaimed acts set to deliver live performances.
In addition to the live performances, the event will include a press conference for music industry professionals and media from both Japan and the United States, organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to disaster relief efforts for a recent fire in the Los Angeles area.
As part of its mission to promote Japanese and Asian music globally, CEIPA will also host the inaugural MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN in May, which aims to boost the international recognition of Japanese music and encourage the entry of foreign artists into the Japanese market. The matsuri ’25: Japanese Music Experience event marks the beginning of CEIPA’s broader efforts to directly promote Japanese music on the world stage.
