The winners of the 15th Golden Indie Music Awards have been announced.
Established in 2010, the Golden Indie Music Awards is Taiwan’s premier indie music event. Over the years, it has seen participation from various Japanese artists, with Denki Groove and King Gnu appearing as presenters and music producer Seiji Kameda serving as a judge.
This year, the prestigious Best Album Award went to the psychedelic rock band Bremen Entertainment Inc. for their self-produced album The Great Bremen Show. Additionally, the single “Peace and Quiet (Bremen announcement)” from the album won the Best Rock Song Award.
Rising hip-hop artist Akamian (Taiwan Rap Handsome Man) won the Best New Artist Award. The R&B single “SEX TAPE,” a collaboration between singer-songwriter ØZI and Sunset Rollercoaster, was recognized for its perfect blend of jazz and electronic elements, earning the Best R&B Song Award. The Best Rock Album Award went to Sorry Youth for their latest work, Noise Apartment.
The Best Asian Creative Artist Award, which recognizes works from Asian countries outside Taiwan, saw nominations from Japan, including LITE’s STRATA and Age Factory’s Songs. The award was won by South Korean rock band Silica Gel for POWER ANDRE 99. The presenter for this award was Tatsuya Kitani.
