On January 27, 2025, Otoboke Beaver is set to join IDLES as a special guest for their concert at Zepp DiverCity (Tokyo) in Odaiba.
This performance is part of IDLES’ solo tour in Japan, which also includes a show in Osaka on January 25, 2025, at Yogibo META VALLEY in Namba.
IDLES is a post-punk band that originated in Bristol, England, in 2008. They debuted with the album Brutalism in 2017 and have since released five albums. Their lyrics frequently tackle social issues such as poverty, immigration, and feminism. One standout track, “Danny Nedelko,” from their second album, Joy As An Act Of Resistance, is dedicated to a close friend of the band who is an immigrant from Ukraine. This song has become a defining piece for the band, and a live performance at the Glastonbury Festival has received nearly one million views.

Otoboke Beaver is a four-member rock band formed in 2009, operating under the motto “Sex, Shiba-zuke, Rock and Roll.” They have developed a worldwide presence with their fluent Kyoto slang and broken English. In 2024, they will embark on a U.S. tour and will also participate in the North American tour of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, showcasing their energetic activities both domestically and internationally. From November to December, they have a domestic tour planned, kicking off with a performance at Takutaku in Kyoto and covering ten shows across nine locations in Japan.

Both bands performed at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival. IDLES took the stage at the Other Stage, while Otoboke Beaver performed at the Park Stage. Footage of their performances can be found on the BBC Music YouTube channel.
