DELTA, a well-known select shop, will host a multifaceted festival called ‘UPPER FIELDS FEST.’ on Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8, at OPRCT in Yoyogi-Uehara, Tokyo.
Celebrated for its curated selection that reflects contemporary values like environmental and human rights consciousness, DELTA first opened in 2004 in Higashi-Kitazawa before moving to Yoyogi-Uehara in 2008. Marking the shop’s 20th anniversary, this event expands upon their annual flea market ‘UPPER FIELDS MKT.’ The festival offers a fresh way to experience Tokyo’s vibrant culture, bringing together fashion, flea markets, music, and food.
The festival’s theme is ‘circulation.’ It will create a space where personal items from artists and archive collections from designers are passed on to others, generating new connections and ideas through fashion and music, with these experiences then feeding back into the cultural landscape.
The live performance lineup for December 7 includes Hakushi Hasegawa, NTsKi, and Peterparker69, while December 8 features Kaho Nakamura, Lil Soft Tennis, uku kasai, and Temple Ov Subsonic Youth a.k.a Mars89. Additionally, Utamaru will take part in a talk show. Collaborations between musicians and fashion brands are also scheduled, including pairings like Hakushi Hasegawa with HATRA, Kaho Nakamura with hair artist Tomihiro Kono, Mars89 with LIBRIO MENDONÇA, Lil Soft Tennis with BASE MARK, and uku kasai with yushokobayashi.
Tickets are 7,700 yen for a one-day pass and 13,000 yen for a two-day pass, with special discounts for attendees under 25. Around 10% of ticket sales will be donated to non-profit organizations, including the UNHCR Association and Médecins Sans Frontières.
