The film ‘Speak No Evil,’ is set to premiere in Japan on December 13. The U.S. trailer and main poster have been released.
This latest thriller from Blumhouse Productions, known for hits like ‘Get Out’ and ‘M3GAN,’ is a remake of the Danish film ‘Knock Knock,’ which was released in Japan in May. The plot follows an American family who, while on vacation, bonds with the Patrick family from the U.K. and is invited to their remote home. What begins as a relaxing getaway soon turns unsettling as small oddities in their host’s “hospitality” accumulate, revealing unimaginable horror lurking beneath.
James McAvoy plays the overly accommodating Patrick, while Ashlyn Françoise portrays his wife, Kiara. The American family, receiving Patrick’s hospitality, is represented by Scoot McNairy as Ben, Mackenzie Davis as Louise, Alix West Lefler as their daughter Agnes, and Dan Huff, a newcomer, as Patrick and Kiara’s mute son, Anton.
The U.S. trailer showcases scenes from the initial meeting between the two families and Patrick’s unsettling hospitality. It includes moments where Patrick insists on serving Louise, who claims to be a vegetarian, special meat dishes, and a chilling moment where Patrick dismisses his claim of being a doctor, laughing off the facade while gradually revealing his sinister side.
