The film ‘Beau Is Afraid’ will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting September 13th.
Released in Japan in February, the film is an odyssey thriller directed by Ari Aster, known for ‘Hereditary’ and ‘Midsommar,’ marking his third collaboration with A24. It follows Beau, a man plagued by anxiety over even the smallest things, as he rushes to his mother’s home after her sudden and mysterious death. Along the way, he encounters a series of bizarre and unexpected events, culminating in a finale that “far surpasses any shock or fear.”
Joaquin Phoenix, who plays Beau, won the Best Actor award at the 92nd Academy Awards for his role in ‘Joker,’ and the upcoming sequel ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ is already generating significant buzz. ‘Beau Is Afraid’ also received high praise, including a nomination for Best Actor at the 81st Golden Globe Awards. The cast includes Nathan Lane, Amy Ryan, Parker Posey, and Patti LuPone.
