The film ‘Dream Scenario’ is set to be released in Japan on Friday, November 22nd.
Produced by the acclaimed studio A24, known for hits like ‘Midsommar’ and ‘Hereditary,’ and directed by Ari Aster, the film stars Nicolas Cage. Cage plays Paul Matthews, an ordinary college professor who suddenly becomes famous after appearing in the dreams of millions. However, as the version of himself in these dreams starts committing wrongdoings, Paul faces a massive backlash. The movie is a dream thriller that explores Paul’s fate and the intentions of his dream self.
Directed by Christopher Borgli, a Norwegian director from Oslo whose film ‘Sick of Myself’ was officially selected for the “Un Certain Regard” section at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, ‘Dream Scenario’ also features Nicolas Cage in the lead role. Cage’s performance as Paul earned him a nomination for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy at the 81st Golden Globe Awards.
To mark the announcement of the Japanese release, a teaser trailer and visual were unveiled. The trailer begins with the question, “Did you see this man in your dreams last night?” It follows Paul as he asks people in various settings, including a university classroom, if they saw him in their dreams. The teaser ends with a tense scene where, amid surreal events like people falling from the sky, Paul slowly approaches a woman.
