The artwork for Mariya Takeuchi’s album Precious Days, set to be released on October 16 (Wednesday), has been unveiled.
In November 2023, Mariya Takeuchi will celebrate her 45th anniversary in the music industry with her first album in nearly a decade, Precious Days. This album follows her 2014 release, TRAD. It features 18 tracks, including previously released singles such as the theme songs from the film Aiai Gasa (“Chiisana Negai”), the drama Nukemairu: Onna San-Nin Ise San-Yori (“Ima o Ikiyou (Seize the Day)”), the movie The Best Life (“Tabi no Tsudzuki”), and the Netflix series Pokémon Concierge (“Kimi no Ibasho (Have a Good Time Here)”).
The “Deluxe Edition” includes a DVD/BD with 17 tracks: 16 from the 2021 streaming concert LIVE Turntable Plus, featuring her first-ever digital concert footage, and “Genki o Dashite,” which was performed with her husband Tatsuro Yamashita’s band at the 2012 SWEET LOVE SHOWER and is making its visual debut. All formats, including records and cassette tapes, come with a track commentary by Takeuchi herself, and both the “Deluxe Edition” and standard CD include a 44-page booklet.
The album artwork, unveiled on August 19, features Takeuchi in a striking red dress, standing confidently with her hands on her hips against a backdrop of green trees. The image is cropped to fit all formats appropriately.
Pre-orders for the album are currently being accepted at Tatsuro Yamashita’s ongoing national hall tour, Tatsuro Yamashita PERFORMANCE 2024, with a special gift of a signed autograph card by Takeuchi available exclusively at the tour venues.

Additionally, a “Noryo Fufu Hodan” segment featuring Takeuchi and Yamashita is scheduled to air on TOKYO FM’s Yamashita Tatsuro Sunday Songbook on August 25 and September 1.
