Hahasegawa Hakushi Returns to THE FIRST TAKE

On July 31 (Wednesday) at 10:00 PM, the 461st episode of THE FIRST TAKE features Hahasegawa Hakushi performing “Soto,” the final track from the new album MAHŌGAKKŌ, which was released on July 24 (Wednesday).

“Soto” captures a deep longing for the outside world with sincere lyrics. This episode will showcase a one-take performance with guest vocalists including Yoshiki Mizuno of Ikimonogakari/HIROBA, Shuhei Kato of NOT WONK/SADFRANK, Puni Puni Denki, Aoi Itoh, Yukkyun, Yoshiki Kaku / men, Towa, and Yana Damen, the owner and designer of the select shop “Mode no Higeki.” The outfit for this performance, continuing from his previous appearance in episode 457 where he performed “Kusaki,” is designed by noir kei ninomiya.

Since his CD debut with the EP “Somoku Hodo” in 2018, Hahasegawa Hakushi has captured international attention with performances at Porter Robinson’s “Secret Sky” and Flying Lotus’s “THE HIT.” In July 2023, Hasegawa made history as the first Japanese artist to sign with the LA-based label Brainfeeder. Hasegawa will be launching his first live tour, HAKUSHI HASEGAWA First Tour 2024 Magical District, across five Japanese cities in October 2024.
