Shibuya’s “SIDE-B” Party Heats Up with YUUKI (ex-CHAI) and Rapper TOKYO Sekai and More

The launch party for SHIBUYA SAKURA GARAGE’s new project, “SIDE-B,” will take place on Tuesday, July 30, in Shibuya, Tokyo. The event will be held at “BLOOM GATE,” an expansive event space located on the 3rd floor of Shibuya Sakura Stage, just a 10-second walk from Shibuya Station. This venue is distinguished by its large dual screens and will host artists with “B-side” talents—those who possess skills distinct from their main careers. Attendees can look forward to a variety of programs, including live performances and workshops.

“SIDE-B” is designed to support individuals who lead dual lives, such as “a serious office worker by day but a DJ and composer by night,” “a VTuber and Vocaloid producer who is also a university student,” or “a shop clerk and dancer who is also a TikToker.” The project will utilize the open dates of the large-screen-equipped “BLOOM GATE” to feature adults engaged in music, video, and dance, fostering new culture and community through their B-side activities.

The launch party will feature TEAM MIKAN as the event MC. Performances will include live sets by Team Bala, composed of female artists and creators, and TOKYO Sekai, known for their “Showa Kayo Vibes.” Additionally, there will be a comedy tournament called “M-Kiri DUO” featuring musicians like Yasushi Yoshida of Triple Fire, and a talk session titled “Enjoying SIDE-B” with YUUKI (ex-CHAI) and writer Yoshiko Yajima. Attendees can also experience Yamaha’s latest track-making gear, the SEQTRAK and FGDP-50 (Finger Drum), as well as CDJ equipment between programs.

On the day of the launch party, a special campaign will be held where participants can receive craft beer and Japanese tea by following the official social media accounts and posting with the event hashtag.
