CHAI has announced their break up, concluding with the Tokyo performance on March 12, the final day of the nationwide tour “We The CHAI Tour!” starting in January.
Since their debut in 2016, CHAI has received acclaim both domestically and internationally, undertaking worldwide activities with tours in North and Central America as well as Europe in 2023. In the statement released on their official website, the reason for disbandment is explained as, “In order to continue fulfilling the vision of becoming the selves we aspire to be, each member has chosen to pursue their individual paths.” The statement also mentions, “Each member will continue to convey NEO kawaii in various ways in their respective lifestyles,” hinting at their future endeavors.

We are sad to let you know that, following our upcoming Japan tour, CHAI will eternalize NEO KAWAII (=parting ways as a band).
To continue our journey of self-love, as CHAI have always said, and to continue to fulfill our own personal visions, we have decided to go our separate ways.
We are so sorry to surprise you with this news.
CHAI would never have been able to travel the world without all of your support, and we cannot thank you enough for the love and courage you have given us.
Each of the members will continue to represent and spread NEO KAWAII in our own individual ways, so we would greatly appreciate your support in the future too.
