ROTH BART BARON Unveils Complete Lineup for “BEAR NIGHT” Festival with YONCE and Mizuno Aoi
YONCE and Mizuno Aoi have been announced to perform at “ROTH BART BARON ’10th ANNIVERSARY’〜BEAR NIGHT 5〜” held at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo’s Shibuya on August 4th (Sunday).
Known as the “Bear Festival,” BEAR NIGHT is ROTH BART BARON’s solo performance festival held annually in summer. Joining previously announced performers Moeka Shiotsuka (Hitsujibungaku), Salyu, and Soshi Sakiyama, YONCE (Suchmos/Hedigan’s) will make a guest appearance during the main live performance. Additionally, Mizuno Aoi will set the mood as the opening DJ, completing the lineup of performers.
YONCE previously appeared as the inaugural guest on the podcast “ROTH BART BARON presents BEAR RADIO” and has performed alongside ROTH BART BARON with Hedigan’s. Mizuno Aoi, known for DJing classical music, marks their third appearance at the event. Both YONCE and Mizuno Aoi have shared messages expressing their excitement and anticipation for the event.
Mifune-kun exposes a profoundly poignant sensation that one would normally want to express gently, with courage and curiosity. As a mere listener, I think it’s very special to touch what’s in his mind through music.
In an era where human brains are becoming like silicon, Mifune-kun surely lives using blood and flesh to the fullest. I feel a strong sympathy for his presence, and I strive to emulate that.
I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of scenery unfolds in the bustling heart of summer. I hope to contribute in some way as a part of this nature.
YONCE (Suchmos, Hedigan’s)
This will be my third time DJing at BEAR NIGHT. I’m deeply grateful that this special festival, which is also a hallmark of the band, provides a place for classical music.
I deeply respect ROTH BART BARON’s constant pursuit of “somewhere not here” and their hopeful spirit. It’s always a great joy and inspiration to be able to visit ROTH’s stage regularly.
In 2021, amidst the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic at STUDIO COAST, we played Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with a message of “let’s all come together now.” Last year at Yoyogi Park at dusk, amid the cicadas’ voices, we accompanied Ravel’s piano piece “Pavane for a Dead Princess.” And now, it’s Shibuya this year! What kind of atmosphere will it be? What pieces will fit the occasion? I’m looking forward to the day with great anticipation.
