The third batch of artists for “FAHDAY2024,” which will be held on Saturday, October 12 throughout the Tomakomai Civic Hall in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, has been announced.
The event is the brainchild of Tomakomai local NOT WONK’s Shuhei Kato (Vo / Gt), and is described as an “exchange market of expression. With the motive of creating a place to bring Tomakomai’s culture to as many people as possible, together with the local people who have been preserving it, the event will be held jointly with live houses, clubs, bars, cafes, and izakayas operating within Tomakomai.
The nine groups announced this time include performers from “Area_1,” a large hall with a capacity of 1,600 people, “Area_2,” where an ambient room will be developed, and “Area_3,” an outdoor area. The four live acts for Area_1 are NOT WONK, Kaneko Ayano, and Odotte Dotte Dotte Kunitachi, who have already been announced, and EGO-WRAPPIN’, who will perform for the first time with NOT WONK. Shuhei Kato commented on the performance of EGO-WRAPPIN’, which will be the first time NOT WONK and EGO-WRAPPIN’ have performed together.

On a normal night at Omachi 1-chome Bar Base, with 10 inches of colored blues spinning in front of me, the cheers and clinking of glasses gave me the confidence that I could make Fahday not just with myself, but with everyone who plays in this town. EGO-WRAPPIN’ is coming to Tomakomai!
In the ambient room “Area_2,” Maleureu, GAK, and tommy△ are scheduled to perform, and Masafumi Gotoh (ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION) will exhibit his drone/ambient work “Recent Report I” in a 3D sound exhibit. In “Area_3”, DJ FUMINN will perform, and Sambongi, poponta cafe, and Happy Hokkaido Kitchen will open stalls.
Tickets for the event, for which only “Area_1” will require a fee, will go on sale to the general public at Ticket Pia on July 6 (Sat). Additional “FAHDAY MEETING TICKETS” at the lowest price, once sold out, are available at co-sponsoring restaurants in Tomakomai.
Crowdfunding for “FAHDAY2024” is currently underway on CAMPFIRE until July 10 (Wed.). Returns will include a documentary film featuring live performances by all four groups in “Area_1,” as well as goods printed with the key visual.
