The 4th wave of artists performing at FAHDAY2024, set to take place across the entire Tomakomai Civic Center in Hokkaido on Saturday, October 12, has been announced, along with the release of the event area map.
Initiated by NOT WONK’s Shuhei Kato (Vo/Gt), a native of Tomakomai, FAHDAY is described as a “marketplace of expression.” The event is co-hosted by local live houses, clubs, bars, cafes, and izakayas, with the goal of preserving Tomakomai’s culture and sharing it with a wider audience.
The newly announced details include updates for the “Area_2” ambient room, curated by WHITELIGHT, the outdoor “Area_3,” and the expansive “Area_4,” which will be spread across spaces like the foyer of the Civic Center’s large hall. “Area_2” will feature performances by Tomakomai native Haru Matsuura and Muroran’s mAsa niwayama. In “Area_3,” DJs KiNG KiNTA and Motoharu will take the stage, and businesses such as ARCO, BROWN and ordinary., haku Living Goods Store, ON THE CORNER, Pâtisserie A.B Racines, VERYCO, Matatabi Bunko, and Kushiageya Joe will be setting up stalls.
“Area_4” will showcase three local acts from Tomakomai: the grunge band BANGLANG, hip-hop artist KanryO, and the indie rock/alternative band sheersücker. Tomakomai’s live house ELLCUBE will be in charge of stage production. Additionally, installations will be provided by photographer Tomoki Kuwajima, who also created the main visuals for ‘FAHDAY2024’, Sapporo-based photographer Mai Kimura, and video director Yuki Sato, known for his extensive work on music videos and live productions.
Entry to “Area_2,” “Area_3,” and “Area_4” is free of charge, while “Area_1,” which requires a ticket, will feature performances by EGO-WRAPPIN’, Odotte Bakari no Kuni, Kaneko Ayano, and NOT WONK.
Additionally, the limited-time recruitment for the “Kasarenbanjō” crowdfunding reward, which was open until Friday, July 19, has been extended until Sunday, September 29, at 11:59 pm.
