OBSG (Obansingha), a neo-folk song band led by Korean folk singer Lee Heemoon, will hold its first concert in Japan in September.
Lee Heemoon is a singer of Gyeonggi Minyo, an intangible cultural asset of Korea, and an artist with an original style that combines traditional music with rock, jazz, and various other genres of music. In 2017, he became the first Asian to perform on NPR’s YouTube program “Tiny Desk Concert” with his band SsingSsing.
OBSG, led by Lee Heemoon, is formed with NST & The Soul Sauce’s bassist Noh Seon-teck’s band Heosongsewol and duo vocalist NomNom, who have performed at the ‘FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL’. They create psychedelic music blending folk songs with reggae, disco, funk, rock, and blues, featuring a 10-member ensemble. In 2023, they released their latest album “SPANGLE” and performed in Germany and France in 2024.
