Yuta Orisaka’s 4th album “Jyumon (呪⽂)” will be released on June 26th (Wed).
In June 2023, Yuta Orisaka will celebrate his 10th anniversary since the start of his live activities. In December of the same year, he released “人人,” his first new song in two years and the theme song for BS-TBS Thursday Drama 23 “Tengu no Kitchen”, and on Friday, April 26, 2024, he completed the “Aizu” tour with his band in four cities throughout Japan.
“Jyumon” is the fourth album after 2 years and 8 months since the previous “Shinri (心理)”, which was produced in the midst of the Corona disaster. Compared to the introspective concept of the previous album, this one has a more open soundscape and a gaze that ruminates on everyday life and finds the present. The album contains 9 songs in total, including the previously announced “人人,” songs that have been performed at live concerts and festivals, and new songs newly written by the band.
The album features the band members senoo ricky (drums), Azumi Miyata (double bass), and Kota Yamauchi (electric guitar) as the core members, along with yatchi (piano), Natsuko Hara (saxophone), Ryotaro Miyasaka (percussion), and Atsuko Hatano (strings) who have worked together as “Yuta Orisaka (duo).” The album was recorded and mixed by Oshiro Makoto and mastered by Frederic Stader.
Furthermore, to commemorate the album release, a hall tour titled “Jyumon” has been confirmed, starting with a performance in Miyagi on September 18 (Wednesday), and covering 8 cities and 9 performances nationwide. The final Tokyo performance will take place over two days, October 17 (Thursday) and 18 (Friday), at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA. Ticket pre-sales began on April 26 (Friday) at 9:00 PM.
Yuta Orisaka comments
From the shade of the grass, to the cold kitchen floor. “Isn’t it empty?” he muttered, then immediately after, troubled by his words, he retraced his steps along the corridor he just walked. A piece of ginger and garlic each. A quarter of an onion, an apple. Into the blender they go. Instead of saying “It’s okay,” he chants a spell. Didabadi, didabadi, I love you.
