Yuta Orisaka’s new track “Oki no Hou e” was released on March 12 (Wednesday).
Ahead of his upcoming hall performances in Osaka and Tokyo, titled Nokosareta Mono no Waltz, which will feature a string quartet for the first time in his career and a total of 11 musicians, Orisaka has released this new song. The track highlights a string quartet made up of Atsuko Hatano (violin), Eiko Suzuki (violin), Naoko Kadotani (viola), and Yumiko Iwao (cello), all of whom will be participating in the upcoming tour. Joining them from the tour lineup are Yatchi on piano and Kouta Yamauchi on electric guitar. The recording and mixing were handled by Ayaka Toki, while the mastering was done by Tsubasa Yamazaki at Flugel Mastering.
The song, themed around “the spring gate,” features Orisaka playing the mandolin while taking the lead, singing with power, “I am here.” The instruments accompany him, sometimes gently and sometimes with strength, creating an uplifting anthem for all those who continue on their journeys. Comments from Orisaka were also shared.
Whales are seen only by those who journey at sea.
Yuta Orisaka
Those who remain at home, never venturing far, will never encounter them.
Humans have only glimpsed the whale bathed in light,
Never the one that surrenders to the dark abyss.
A swan boat drifting on the water.
The ones left behind and the ones who sailed away.
Fate brings them together in the most unlikely places.
And so, a spring like that will arrive!
Yuta Orisakapring will come!
Simultaneously with the release, a lyric video for the song was also unveiled. The cover artwork, like the one for the 2024 release “Spell,” was created by Orisaka using torn paper art, with the design handled by Seiki Suzuki.
