The poster visual for the film ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Hits Nationwide Theatrical Release on October 11 has been unveiled and will be released in theaters nationwide on Friday, October 11.
The 2019 suspense film ‘Joker’ depicts the transformation of Arthur, a lonely but kind-hearted man, into an “evil charismatic figure” in the midst of a distorted society. The film won the Golden Lion at the 76th Venice International Film Festival and was nominated for a total of 11 awards at the 92nd Academy Awards, with Joaquin Phoenix winning Best Actor. The film has become a major social phenomenon, grossing over 150 billion yen ($1 billion) worldwide and over 5 billion yen and 3.5 million viewers in Japan.
The latest film in the Joker series, ‘Joker: For a Do’ is scheduled for release on October 4 (Friday) in the United States. Joaquin Phoenix will continue to play the role of Arthur, and Lady Gaga will co-star. The film will be directed by Todd Phillips, continuing on from the previous film. The poster visual released simultaneously around the world shows Arthur in clown makeup as the Joker, dancing with a woman played by Lady Gaga in the spotlight. Lady Gaga’s role has not been announced, but she is expected to play Harleen Quinzel (aka Harley Quinn).
Folie à Deux
French for “two people gone mad,” it refers to a person A with delusions and a healthy person B with close ties, who spend time together without much influence from the outside world, and the delusion is transmitted from A to B, or more than one person, and the delusion is shared.
