Perfume Returns to Live Venues After 9 Years: Exclusive Report on Fan Club-Only Event

Perfume hosted the special fan club-only event at Tokyo’s Liquidroom in Ebisu on February 13th (Tuesday) and 14th (Wednesday).

The event commemorated the 15th anniversary of Perfume’s official fan club “P.T.A.” and the 10th anniversary of the fan club “WORLD P.T.A.” for overseas members. It was an exclusive gathering limited to those who excelled in the “P.T.A. Certification Exam 2023,” testing knowledge about Perfume. The live house performance by Perfume marked a return after approximately 9 years since 2015. The setlist, evoking memories of the “P.T.A. Pre-inauguration Eve Festival ‘Let’s Have a Fun Time Together'” held at the same Liquidroom on February 13, 2008, included references to “that night” and featured anniversary-themed elements to celebrate the fan club’s milestones.

The live performance began with Perfume members appearing in costumes paying homage to the T-shirts they wore during the release events at that time. They kicked off with performances of “Baby Cruising Love,” “Computer City,” and “Foundation,” all released in the 2000s.

During the talk segment, the familiar MCs closely associated with Perfume, Okite Porsche (on the first day) and Grunge Tohyama (on the second day), made appearances. The discussion involved reflections on the questions from the “P.T.A. Certification Exam 2023,” along with an intro quiz where the members expressed songs through facial expressions. The atmosphere was warm and homely, fitting for this memorable event.

Towards the end of the live performance, they showcased the latest song “Sumikkodisco,” and the atmosphere reached its climax during the final song, “Chocolate Disco.” The members, with smiles on their faces, concluded by expressing, “It was a special Valentine’s night, incredibly enjoyable! Thank you very much!” The live event came to a close.
